今年也许是马来西亚新闻自由的黑暗时期。我觉得Sarawak Tribune的执照取消不是因为所谓的维持民族和谐，反而是为了某些政治人物的政治利益。
难道我国人民的教育素质仍然那么低弱吗？一些简简单单的图片漫画可以导致我国的民众起冲突吗？只要某些政治人物没教唆人们闹事，那马来西亚就不会有所谓的种族冲突。一直以来，马来人的文化是追随那些比较有权利的人，不像华人一样是一盘散沙。他们只会做领导人叫他们做的事情。只要领导的人不闹事，那他们就不会闹事。
在其他国家，如果某些报纸出现错误（我不是讲sarawak tribune错），最多是总编辑辞职，很少有直接吊销执照的。我不是新闻界人，不过我却希望能享有透明度高的新闻媒体，不被任何政治黑手控制着。
也许sarawak tribune只是个陪葬品。也许是某些政治人物为了巩固自己的影响力，要告诉对手惹他的后果，或者说要削弱对手的力量才这么做的。这是一种政治阴谋，毕竟很多报业的幕后都有一个政治背景backup着。
可怜的是那些sarawak tribune的员工。可以一夜之间丢了工作，马来西亚的失业率又增加了。也许以后会越来越多blogger。马来西亚绝对绝对不能做的事就是block internet里的东西，因为这样做会和MSC(Multimedia Super Corridor)多媒体走廊的概念冲撞。
其实这些图片是可以在网络上轻易找到的。难道你要吊销tmnet的执照不让我们上网？或者你要抓我因为我写了这篇?
马来西亚的大多数政治人物的国际观，远见都不够。我国如何在国际社会上竞争？向东学习过度，竟然会去学北韩中国和缅甸的不可取之处。前一些日子好像还在东协还是“不靠边国家”的论坛上建议关于新闻的东西。好笑！
去年到今年政府已经对两家媒体动手了，希望各位马来西亚的blogger们可以各自在自己的blog上讨论此事。

不知道为何那么多人仍然提倡男女平等，而不是提倡humanism（人性）。

Yesterday i posted some posts regarding to the privatizing of Sunway Monash Condominium.
Here’s a comment from my fellow reader:
U noe wat?My hsemate just got an a/c single room in block B and the thing tht makes me angry is tht he requested for it yesterday and then the Mr Sin give him one straightaway in block B.He can anytime move in if he wants…tht’s y i wonder y u can’t get provided tht u’d did ADVANCE booking.I’m going to request again for my either single non a/c room or sharing a/c room next Monday.Do u need my help to ask them anything???About the privatisation thingy I actually dunno much but many of my frens and most of my hsemate were affected.I think the owners want to take back their units and rent out themselves rather than giving the authorization to the hostel management where they earn less rental due to the management needs to like deduct the rental for housekeeping,maintainence,staff’s salary and so on…tht’s the rumours.Dunno wat they up to.

Sunway Monash Condominium and Sunway Apartment are different.
Since the apartment is so “unwanted”, why can’t they sold the units in apartment to the outsiders in stead of the condominium’s one? For your information, apartment is much more nearer to the campus and i believe it’s more convenient for whoever-living-in-the-private-units. Why are they chasing students out of the condominum? Or perhaps, the outsiders paid them more?
I went through the HOSTEL RULES AND REGULATIONS again this morning, and i wonder these outsiders in Sunway Monash Condo are required to obey it or not.
2.4 Cooking is not allowed. However hostelites may use their own electric kettle to boil water
According to current rumours, the privatized units are occupied by the outsider’s whole family. Okie, if it’s a family, they got to cook for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Are them allowed to cook in their unit?
3.3 Visitors are not allowed to stay overnight in the hostel units without the prior consent of the Hostel Master
Can the outsiders’ friends or relatives stay overnight? As they bought the units, they have the right to do so.
3.4 Hostelites are not permited to allow visitors (including hostelites) of the opposite sex into their bedrooms at any time for whatever reason. ANY HOSTELITE FOUND IN THE COMPANY OF A MEMBER OF THE OPPOSITE SEX IN ANY ROOM IN THE HOSTEL UNIT WILL BE EVICTED
I strongly doubt it. If the rumours are true that the lecturers are the one who bought the units, it even worse. There have been lecturer seducing students and vice vesa in other countries, and with the world class facilities and third worlds thought, it might be happening exactly in Sunway. Why not?
8.2 Hostelites should return to the Hostel by mid-night on weekdays. On Friday, Saturday and eves of public holidays they should return by 3.00 a.m. of the following day provided he/she has a late night pass. The late night pass is available at the Hostel Management Office during office hours.
They bought the place, should they be limited to these rules?
I found a leak in these rules, the rules are for hostelites but those privatized resident are not ‘hostelites’. They lived in their own house. If so, why they have the right to use the hostel’s security, the IT facilities, the swimming pools and other faciliites? They don’t pay to maintaince those every month but they bought the place and they should risk by their own. They shouldn’t use what others pay for.

I dun think all the unit tht privatised are left for lecturer cos I saw the notice board downstairs there’s some private owner of SUNWAY MONASH Condo hostel looking for tenants but they are not under the hostel management instead by themselves…funny!But I hear from ppl saying that the condo hostel used to be a private residential last time but bcos the developer unable to sold out most of the units there then I think Sunway College then took over to do as hostel.Tht’s y there r some private units in the hostel.Lagoonview is the same just that they sold out more unit in it…
You can say i’m selfish, but why not? Imagine you bought a car and you’re paying of the loan every months, and then there’s this guy who just buy a perfume for you to put in your car who’s driving your car everyday, and you’re the one who’s paying for the petrol.

I feel that it’s a must do make the whole thing clear for the privatising of some of the units in Sunway Monash Condominium.
So far the reasons i heard from rumours for privatising some of the units are:
1. To make sure there’s no extra units left
2. To provide conveniences for lecturers
This is what i concern about for now:
1. Who’s the one bought the private units
2. The students safeties
3. Did they discuss with the students before they make the decision?
4. How many students are affected?
5. When did they start this plan
6. Why did they do this?
I heard that the rooms are for lecturers, but no one can confirm that for me. Actually there’s only few privatise units for the sunway hostel wardens at first floor, and i think lecturers are not suitable to live there.
Well, besides lecturers (if it really is lecturers), we don’t really know who else is living there, is the lecturers’ family moving in also? Can anyone else visit the so-called-lecturers anytime anyhow as it is their own private units and they bought it (i don’t know how much they bought them). What if these people don’t behave good and you know there’s a lot of pretty girls and handsome guys in the hostel, you can guarantee anything.
I did some finding online and found that many people can’t find a room in sunway hostel. So that mess up with the first reason that too much extra rooms left in the hostel.
I’m desperate for a room in sunway….somebody please help me out….the hostel at the university are FULL and the waiting list is so so so long…I am indeed worried bout it but what can I do?

It’s funny to see that as the guy claimed that the WAITING LIST is very long.
Guess what folks? Sunway Monash Condo Hostel ran out of rooms, so the management dumped me into the Penthouse unit in Lagoonview Resort Condo.

they are quite kind to this fellow but the previous dude. I’m not sure how many people are affected.
The whole block B was furnished with aircons units and i still got no available room, now i know why.
I’ve tried to confirm my room allocation again and this is the reply i got:
You’ll find out on the day you check in. From this year onwards, we are
supposed to inform on the day a student checks in.
This worries me because that might means there’s no guarantee i’ll definitely get a room.
As i always said, we should get for what we pay for. It’s not only students’ rights, but also the consumers’ rights. I’ll update every pieces of news i got for these matters in this blog
I hope someone can help me go into details for these private units in Sunway Monash Condominium case for our own rights. You can either email me or find me via IM (Instant Messaging).

Last year, in the mid of November, i’ve submited my Booking Form and Fees for a single aircon non-balcony room in Sunway Monash Condominium. They’ve promised me that by early submission of booking, i’ll definitely get the room i want.
I paid RM 470 for booking the room immediately after i submit the booking form and got a so-call-receipt from them which is not a proper receipt. It’s just a photocopied of the first page of my booking form and a cop of the management office.
Somehow the next few months, i tried to email them regarding the issues and ask for the confirmation of my room. After sending so many emails, i’ve only got one reply:
Please be informed that we have received accommodation booking form dated 21/11/05. Sorry for not informing you earlier. You will be informed in due course when the allocation is finalized. Currently we are busy with the new students coming for the pre u. programmes.
So they haven’t processed any of my bookings. That’s sucks honestly. I felt like cheated so i send back several email enquires when will the exact date of my allocation be done. The day i received that email is 6th January 2006. It’s almost after a month they replied my email. But further on, i got no repliy from them again. And in this letter, they don’t exactly answer me whether i can get the room i want or not.
I got no letter, no phone calls from them either.
So on 6th February 2006, exactly one month after their first reply, they told me that i’m allocated in Sinlge Non Air Con room. Hell, they’re breaking their promise! I doubt their policy and this is how they reply me:
Firstly you must understand how we operate before you question our policy.
It is not a question of booking early and you can demand any type of room
you need especially single A/C rooms. We have got 1400 students staying in
the condo hostel and roughly about 200 plus checked out after completing
their studies .Among these 200 plus, some of them were from single rooms.
These single rooms especially A/C rooms, will be allocated to staying
students who have been waiting for months for their single A/C rooms. So
,you can see it is difficult for new incoming students to get single A/C
rooms . you have to stay at the allocated rooms for a while and change to
single A/C when it is available. I hope you understand how we operate.
Please confirm your acceptance of the allocated room as soon as possible.
So i quoted some from their disclaimer:
Accommodation is available for outstation and international students from Sunway University College’s Hostel Management Office. The hostel is available on a first-come-first serve basis, and students can choose between the two types of hostels available, which are apartment style and condominium style.
iv. that priority will be given to new full-time international/outstation students
Man! I’m from outstation, and they don’t put me in the priority as i’ve booked earlier.
I’m not really angry for not getting an aircon room, what i’m angry for is that they DID NOT try to processed my booking earlier and effectively. And they informed me about the allocation just few days before i’m leaving for it! It’s sucks and mess up all the plans i made. If they could allocated me earlier, maybe i still can plan for living at other places.
Honestly, I’ve thoughts not studying there in stead of other universities. It’s their own loss.
